My Seasons

Overall, ISM has shown me a few growths and weaknesses. Not only have I grown as a student, but I have also grown as a person. Before being part of the program, I had the expectation that the work would flow easily and I would be able to gain a mentor and be successful. However, after researching multiple topics, changing my study focus, designing different works, and reaching out to professionals, I have discovered that it takes resilience and perseverance to stick with a topic to research.
I do not regret the work that I have completed, but I now understand that in order to be personally successful in any area, an individual must be consistent in one’s efforts and set high goals (but not unrealistic ones). One weakness that I could improve upon, in my later studies in college, is to manage my time better. In my junior year of high school, I was relatively free, which prompted me to apply for the ISM program. However, I soon realized that senior year has been the busiest time as I gear up for college. Thus, managing ISM and submitting all the assignments on time was a real struggle. However, that struggle has still pushed me to submit the assignments and finish my original work and final products.
Ultimately, I believe that ISM was a positive experience as it motivated me to go outside of the school curriculum and prepare myself for my college career. I thank all the professionals and careers that motivated me to complete this program.
