Sunny Days

This week, I met with an economics teacher at my school to discuss my project and potential ways to incorporate game theory more meaningfully. He pointed out something really important, that in order for game theory to be applicable, the players must be interacting in a way where their choices influence one another. This led to an interesting discussion about how I could structure the rules of my game to allow for strategic decision-making.

for a combined total without exceeding a certain number. This adds tension and strategy because if both roll and exceed the limit, they lose. But if only one rolls, the payoffs shift, and that decision becomes central to the game. Another variation he offered was using a shared pot, with different outcomes based on the players’ choices to roll or not. These interactions would allow players to try to predict each other’s strategies, making it a perfect setup for exploring concepts like the Nash equilibrium. Overall, I am excited to finalize my research and present my final product.
