When starting the ISM program, I did not have a clear understanding of what I wanted to research. I only knew that I was interested in narrowing my search. After researching and analyzing many different articles, from risk management to retirement savings, I have realized that all financial articles are based on one thing: decision-making. Since my discovery, I have researched more in economics and come to appreciate the financial and social aspects of it.
Thus, my goals in ISM have shifted into researching more of the decision-making process of finance. However, my long-term goal will stay the same; I will still research more on the fundamentals of finance but with an economic perspective.
This week, I was successful in narrowing my scope of research; however, I want to research more articles and expand my basic knowledge on corporate and personal finance all the while I explore the economic field, with a focus on macroeconomics because I am currently taking a microeconomics course at Collin Community College. Additionally, I have created a Google Sites website that I am currently adding any financial terms and concepts I learn about to eventually complete my goal, creating a website of financial resources for individuals. So, next week, I plan to research more articles and add more information to the Google Sites.
With this new perspective, I hope to continue my path onwards to discover more about economics and finance.
