ISM is a wonderful class that allows me to connect the gap between my educational and professional life. Despite having only been in the class for a month, I have learned much more jargon and concepts about the field. The first steps of my ISM journey have been steady. By being in the ISM program, my main goal is to create a hub of financial knowledge to help others manage their finances. In my first month, I researched many articles so far, and one, in particular, stood out to me, which analyzed how experience effects, the influence of personal experiences, impact an individual’s investment activity. This article not only inspired me to research further on the field, but also made me feel hopeful, and I learned that it is not innate talent that can make a difference between success and failure, but it is an individual’s core values and beliefs that they decide through life’s trials and tribulations.
As I delve into the field, I expect to face challenges like narrowing down my interest in the field, finding a mentor, and completing my goal. If I wish to see the sunrise (i.e. to succeed), a good idea will be to work ahead of the schedule, before night turns into day, to spend more time ensuring I combat those predicted challenges. Despite only having been in the program for a few weeks, I am excited to connect with and learn from different professionals and explore the numerous opportunities and fields in, or similar to, finance.
